St. John the Baptist 68th Anniversary
The Russian Orthodox Cathedral of St. John the Baptist marked their 68th anniversary this past Sunday. A Hierarchal Divine Liturgy was celebrated with Metropolitan Hilarion in the presence of the Hawaiian Myrrh Streaming Icon.
On September 11, 1949, the Feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist and Forerunner of Christ, the Holy Hierarch St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco celebrated the Divine Liturgy for the first time with the newly established Washington community.
